Unexpected News

Sutton had finally returned from Paris which meant that her, Emery and I would finally have the chance to catch up.

I felt like it had been forever since we had one of our pizza and wine nights. I knew they would have questions about what happened at Court with Nathan and what was going on with Spencer.

Truth was things between Spencer and I had been perfect, after I told him I trusted him we both decided it was worth another shot. We were worth another shot. He was officially mine again and I was officially his and I couldn’t be more thrilled at the idea of having Spencer back.

It didn’t matter if I had been swamped with work, Spencer was still more than willing to bring me pizza and watch T.V while I worked. I also helped that he loved seeing me sprawl out on my end of the couch and focused like that.

I asked Spencer once why he loved seeing me in just a shirt with my glasses and my hair in a messy bun and his response what that he loved me looking so determined but yet relaxed at the same time and it was sexy to him. I thought he was an idiot and just didn’t question it again.

Sutton was running late, which was unusual for her. Normally I was the one running late and if you asked either one of them as to why they would both say I was too busy having sex with Spencer. It was Sutton that was always early. If you turned up with Sutton to something you would always be at least 10 minutes early.

Both Emery and I were getting worried about where she was at until finally there was a knock at my door and I could see the relief wash over her face. I guess everyone was slightly affected by my attack.

I let Sutton in and she quickly walked in like she owned the place and put the wine she brought in the fridge. I thought something was off about the whole thing but I let it go figuring she would fill us in, hell maybe something went down with Alex in Paris and that was why he was acting weird as well.

Emery went into the kitchen to get the pizza’s she brought over. She had placed them in the oven to keep them warm.

“Where the hell did you get those?” I said as Sutton and I stared at the pizzas.

“Nowhere. I made them, I happened to bribe my usual delivery guy to give me a couple of extra boxes so I could surprise you with these.” Emery grinned at us, obviously pleased with her achievement.

I couldn’t believe Emery actually had the time to make these pizzas. They weren’t even ordinary pizzas. No, these were the pizzas I had seen all over Instagram and Pinterest. They were the s’more pizzas I have been dying to try at some stage but I was way too lazy to even attempt.

“Aww, you did this hard work for us?” I cooed at her but all she did was throw a pillow at me.

The pizzas that Emery made were amazing. I couldn’t believe they actually tasted this good. I mean smores are amazing and so is pizza but whoever thought about combining the two was a god of invention.

“Sutton are you alright?” I asked as she just stood up and headed into the kitchen to grab another bottle of wine.

We had finished the pizza’s and moved on to dessert which consisted of only wine but Emery and I were the only ones talking, Sutton barely said a word.

“Sutton you can’t shut us out, that’s Dri’s thing,” Emery joked.

“Hey!” I exclaimed while leaning over to hit her.

“Dri, how did you cope with Spencer’s weird proposal at your birthday? I know you freaked but how did you two get past it or even cope with it?”

I shared a look with Emery. We hadn’t expected this from Sutton. Last I heard from Sutton about her relationship with Alex she was unsure of his feelings. How did that lead to her asking about weird proposals?

“Sutton what happened?” I asked, hoping more than anything she would tell us what happened between her and Alex.

“It was when we were in Rome. We had gone down to see the Trevi Fountain and there were hundreds of people around, it was packed. We were waiting to get close so we could make our wish and someone proposed. I did the stupid thing of saying how romantic that was,” my jaw literally dropped.

Sutton had always been a mix of Emery and I but when it comes to her relationship she was a bit more private. Both Emery and I knew that she would never want a public proposal. It wasn’t her. She stated she didn’t want the pressure of having to say yes, she wanted to be able to say no if she needed without humiliating the poor guy.

“He didn’t, did he?” Emery asked before I even had the chance.

“He did, a few days later. There wasn’t even a ring. I don’t know what happened, one minute he is telling me how much I mean to him, that he can see his future with me in it. He must have seen the look on my face or something because he covered it up. We didn’t speak until we got back to the hotel room.”

My heart broke at the sight of Sutton, she was on the verge of tears and I had no idea how to help her. I looked over at Emery and she looked as confused as I did.

“When we were in the hotel, I tried to ask him what it was all about. He tried to brush it off saying he was just letting me know how he felt, something about how us taking the trip together reminding him of how much he loved me and how much he missed me between the two of us always travelling. It all ended with us yelling each other. The final thing he said was that he wanted me to marry him. I stared at him, unsure of what was really happening and that was when he said he didn’t have a ring because it was out of the blue and not planned.”

“Good, because had the idiot come to either of us we would have told him not to do it in public,” Emery snapped. She was angry with Alex.

“You just need to talk to him, you’ve been in Paris and he’s been here unsure of what is going on in your head.” I said.

Sutton fell silent after that. All of it reminded me of what happened with Spencer all those months ago. I wondered if it was something we should talk about again now that we were back together or if I should leave it in the past.

“So what’s going on with you and Spencer, Dri?” I tried so hard to fight the blush that appeared on my face but Emery caught it and pointed at me.

“Busted!” she yelled with a huge grin on her face and I buried mine in my hands.

“What’s going on? I would love to take my mind of my own love issues and hear about someone else’s.” Sutton stated and I had no choice but to tell them both, anything to distract Sutton.

  1. Ha! I thought this was going to be a pregnancy announcement! It sucks that Sutton was put on the spot. I hope she figures out what she wants!

I'm also glad things are going well between Dri and Spencer. I know she has a lot to worm through and think things will end up well for her. I kind of hope she leaves well enough alone and doesn't pry into what Spend did while they were broken up. Even though he can overlook her rebound relationship, I don't think she wI'll be able to do the same. In this case, it's best to leave well enough alone. Unless there's a love child involved, hahaha!

What is up with men and glasses? I wear reading glasses, and every time I am sitting on the couch or in bed reading, my boyfriend sits there staring at me with "the look." Hahaha!

    1. I did not even think about that possibility but now that it's said I can see how people would think that.

I can assure you Dri doesn't pry into what happened while Spencer was in London. As for a love child well...maybe...nope just kidding, I can assure there will be no love childs in this story.

As for the men and glasses thing I don't know, I'm sadly single and have never had a guy say anything about my glasses. I saw it in a movie or T.V show when I was writing the first post that mentions it and thought to put it in because I assume there is always something a guy sees in their girlfriend that is the hottest thing in the world and thought Spencer could have that.
